Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo admits his side benefitted from an outstanding display by young defender Japhet Tanganga during their 1-0 win over Manchester City.
The right back was in fine form as he denied the likes of Raheem Sterling and Jack Grealish throughout the contest.
Spurs held on for a narrow home success during their opening game of the Premier League campaign on Sunday.
Speaking with reporters post-game, Santo said regarding Tanganga and fellow youngster Oliver Skipp: "They did well.
"When they started the season they were in the processes of recovering from injury but they had a good foundation in terms of fitness and physicality with the work they did with sports science and I think they were able to keep on growing and we can see they are fit and stronger and faster.
"All the team did very well but Japhet was huge today.
"He faced too many one-v-ones today against fantastic players and he dealt fantastic with the situation."
