Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says his midfield struggled to deal with "rhythm" in the first-half against Wolves on Sunday.
Paul Pogba moved back into central midfield after Scott McTominay's injury, allowing Jadon Sancho to earn his first start at left-wing.
Wolves overran United in the midfield throughout the game, but the Red Devils won it late thanks to Mason Greenwood.
"Have you not seen the game where Paul was playing?" Solskjaer told reporters when quizzed on the midfield balance vs Wolves.
"Go back and see the game and you see where Paul was playing. I think we struggled first-half to get rhythm with the hustle and bustle of the game. Second-half, we settled well and Paul took control of the game and did really, really well.
"He can play those passes, first-half and second-half he does the same, he can do both."
