Rafael da Silva has left Istanbul Basaksehir.
The former Manchester United fullback signed for the Super Lig side in September 2020 on a two-year contract with the option of a third,
But after just one year in Turkey, the Brazilian defender has posted a farewell message on his Instagram account revealing that he has left the club and is now looking for a new challenge.
In a short statement on his official account, the 31-year-old said: "I would like to thank you Başakşehir and also Okan Buruk to trust in my work.
"Sadly the way it goes. Things changes football is like this. I couldn't fight for you this season but it was a nice year here with open and down. Now it's time for a new challenge! Let's go!"
