Manchester United veteran Nemanja Matic believes a good pre-season is vital to beginning the new campaign on the right foot.
The Red Devils take on Leeds United on August 14th at Old Trafford in their Premier League opener.
As the last of United's first team players return to pre-season training on Monday, Matic spoke with the club website about the ways he has adapted his training schedule during pre-season over the years.
Matic said: "Yeah. The most important thing always is to prepare your body for the long season and to be physically ready.
"If you train very well during pre-season then you have less injuries.
"They are part of football, especially as we have so many games, but the important thing is to be physically ready and you have to use every pre-season for that."
