Scottish side Aberdeen are holding talks with Newcastle United over a loan move for Matty Longstaff.

The midfielder is on the fringes of Steve Bruce's team, and may believe a loan move will allow him to get regular game time this season.

According to Sky Sports, the two clubs are close to an agreement, with Longstaff ready to make the move to the Scottish Premiership for the season.

There is also interest from Championship outfits, including West Brom, Stoke City, and Sheffield United.

Longstaff's stock has fallen considerably since he was linked to Manchester United a few years ago.
