Former Tottenham shot stopper Paul Robinson believes those who are advising striker Harry Kane have done a poor job this summer.
Kane went public with his desire to have a new adventure at the start of the summer, indicating his wish for Spurs to sell him.
Manchester City are the club with the strongest interest, but no one has come close to matching Spurs' valuation of the player.
Kane even missed a week of training by refusing to turn up, but later released a statement that sidestepped the issue.
"I think the way that he's conducted himself and the way he's been badly advised, or whether he's made these decisions on his own, will not bode well for him," Robinson told Gambling.com.
"He's been held in such high regard by Spurs fans worldwide so if he does leave in this way it would probably tarnish his legacy.
"The more you read into it, the more quotes that come out now, the more we're learning about it. The manager spoke about it the other day and Harry Kane was quick to suggest there's more to it on his Twitter feed."
