Southampton midfielder Oriol Romeu has revealed his teammates were shocked of the news of Danny Ings' departure.
The English striker left Southampton for Villa this week in a deal worth £30m.
Speaking to the Daily Echo, Romeu said: "I just found out after the game. As soon as we walked in I was talking with some of the lads and they said about Danny. We didn't know anything actually, we just found out now.
"He's been great for us. He's done a great job and we just have to wish him all the best. It's his decision. He's been a great guy, respected everyone and always worked for the team and gave everything every time he played.
"Hopefully he can do well, apart from against us!"
