Norwich City boss Daniel Farke admitted some disappointment with their friendly defeat to Newcastle United.

Newcastle were comfortable 3-0 winners on Saturday.

"Of course, you are not really happy and also are a bit disappointed when you lose the last test before the real stuff begins," he told reporters.

"To sum the game up, the first half was really good; the second half not so. That's more or less the story of the game.

"It was a competitive test and, if I'm honest, I half-expected it would be a difficult game for us today because we had exactly 10 first-team players available for this test and all 10 of these outfield players were on the pitch in the starting line-up. "To play against a side who had a proper 22 or 23 first-team players on the team sheet in their home stadium for the first time in front of a proper crowd, for me, it was clear it would be a bit difficult.

"If I'm honest, if we were capable of winning such a game with just 10 first-team players under the difficult circumstances, it would have been a big surprise."
