Everton goalkeeper Joao Virginia is delighted with his move to Sporting CP.
Virginia has joined Sporting on a season-long loan.
He said, "I'm really happy to be able to represent this club. Returning to Portugal was one of my goals, so when I learned that Sporting was interested I was very happy and wanted to come right away.
"There's a lot of competitiveness in the group and that's perfect," said Virgínia, who hopes to "learn from the elders" and who was pleased with coach Rúben Amorim's compliments: "It's always good to be praised. Now I'll have to prove it to everyone in the days in training and in games.
"When the possibility of coming to Sporting came up, I thought it would be excellent to work with Tiago Ferreira. I'm very happy. I'll give my all for Sporting."
