Chelsea will make one last attempt to sign Sevilla defender Jules Kounde.
According to Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Londoners are desperate to add the 22-year-old to Thomas Tuchel's squad.
However, the finances of the deal are an issue, with Sevilla wanting a hefty fee to part with Kounde this late in the transfer window.
Romano also stated that Chelsea are looking to sign Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul, possibly on a loan deal.
Posting on Twitter on Wednesday night, Romano said: "Chelsea have their final bid ready to be submitted for Jules Kounde – still waiting for green light on [Kurt] Zouma to complete Kounde deal.
"Work in progress on both Saul & Kounde but not done/signing stages yet.
"Kounde personal terms, agreed since July – nothing new. Patience."
