Wolves are in talks to sign Lille midfielder Renato Sanches on loan.
The Portuguese midfielder had been strongly linked with Liverpool this summer.
However, Wolves have taken advantage of their relationship with the player's agent, Jorge Mendes, to get negotiations started.
Sanches is carrying a knee inquiry, but Wolves remain confident of sealing a transfer before Tuesday's deadline, per Sky Sports.
24-year-old Sanches got his career back on track last season after a disappointing stint at Bayern Munich.
He has managed five goals and five assists in 60 appearances for Lille and helped them win Ligue 1 last season.
