Several Premier League clubs made attempts for Olympique Marseille midfielder Boubacar Kamara over the summer.

The defensive midfielder was expected to leave OM, though eventually ended up staying after being left unimpressed by the offers tabled.

La Provence says Wolves and Newcastle United made offers, but Kamara resisted.

Chelsea and AC Milan were also interested, though neither club made proposals for the midfielder.

OM president Pablo Longoria said: "It is a situation that is not pleasant. Especially when he's a club-trained boy. I don't like having players at the end of my contract at the club. I want this to be a strong signal."
