Liverpool are threatening Everton's transfer plans for Porto star Luis Diaz.
Everton made an attempt for the Colombia international over the summer, though a swap offer including James Rodriguez was resisted by Porto.
The Blues are expected to return to Porto in January with a new offer now that James' departure for Al Rayyan has freed up greater room in terms in financial fair play.
However, the Independent says local rivals Liverpool are also interested in Diaz.
Reds chiefs have concerns about the average age of their attacking trio Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino and have the 24 year-old Diaz now being scouted.
The attacker played against the Reds in last night's 5-1 Champions League defeat.
