Brentford boss Thomas Frank wanted to raid his home country for FC Copenhagen striker Jonas Wind on deadline day.
The Premier League newcomers made an improved £5.6million offer for the Denmark international.
However the Superliga club refused to release Wind, valuing the nine-cap ace at nearer to £11m, says The Sun.
The striker has bagged five goals in 11 games so far this season, and played for Denmark at this summer's Euro 2020 finals.
