Everton considered a swap bid for Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff, it has been revealed.
The Athletic reports Everton discussed the possibility of a swap deal involving Tom Davies and Longstaff this summer.
The Blues were linked with the Newcastled midfielder this summer, though a deal failed to materialise in the end.
Davies has also remained put at Everton, though is still waiting to make his first Premier League appearance under Rafa Benitez.
The 23-year-old was on the bench for the Blues' opening two league fixtures but was left out of the squad altogether for the team's recent win at Brighton.
