Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has spoken of his connection with former club Lyon after France's defeat of Finland in their World Cup qualifier.
The match was held at Lyon's stadium and was a special moment for Benzema.
It was his first game in Lyon since he joined Real Madrid 12 years ago.
"I have had a magnificent evening, I expected the ovation because Lyon and I have a love story," Benzema explained to TF1.
"I have to thank the fans for having come en masse, I'm happy and proud. It has been one of my most beautiful nights, in addition the victory was very important for us."
