Juventus ace Fede Chiesa admits he came close to giving the game away as a young player.
Chiesa, the son of former Italy star Enrico Chiesa, came through the system at Fiorentina before leaving for Juve two years ago.
He recalled to the Telegraph: "I often didn't play in Fiorentina's youth teams and I often thought about quitting and trying to do something else.
"My family's help pushed me to train harder to develop my body because I was really small and thin."
Chiesa was key for Italy in this summer's Euro 2020 success.
