Aston Villa manager Dean Smith admits he is delighted at how his team claimed all three points against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
The Villains put in one of their best displays of the season, besting a star-studded United side away from home to pull off a 1-0 win.
Despite conceding an injury time penalty, Villa were relieved when Bruno Fernandes hit the effort wide of the target, ensuring they walked away with three valuable points.
Smith said, per the Express and Star: "It is a big result but I think we have been close to it in recent visits to Old Trafford.
"We conceded the inevitable penalty, which I felt was a little bit harsh. But I think going there and playing as well as we did and being as brave as we were will give everyone a lift.
"It is no disrespect to players who were here last season but when you can put your record signing on the pitch for the last 15 minutes it shows when we are healthy the depth of the squad we have got.
"I thought we had recruited well since Jack (Grealish) had gone and the performances have been there.
"We had an indifferent start but there were reasons for that. But we are in a place where we feel we are a healthy squad but an improving squad as well."
