Trailing 1-0 thanks to Kortney Hause's late strike, United were given a shot at redemption after being awarded a penalty in added time.
With all eyes on the commotion, Martinez stepped away and appeared to dare Ronaldo to take the penalty instead.
The former Arsenal goalkeeper appeared to yell "you take it" at Ronaldo.
Despite that, Bruno Fernandes took the penalty and promptly send it skyrocketing over the bar and into orbit.
Not done there, Martinez quickly turned to the fans at the Stretford End and did a little celebration dance.
