Athletic Bilbao earned a 2-0 win over Real Mallorca on Saturday.
It was hard fought at San Mames Stadium as both sides arrived on the back of wins. Athletic Bilbao were keen to hang onto their position at the top of league and extend their winning run after winning last match while Mallorca were coming from consecutive wins against Espanyol and Alaves.
After an uneventful first half, Athletic Bilbao piled on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with Dani Vivian giving Athletic the lead in the 68th minute.
The Lions then netted once more and increased their advantage thanks to a goal from Inaki Williams at the 74 minute mark to make it 2-0.
As the table looks today, Athletic Bilbao are in 1st place on the table and has 8 points while Mallorca sit in 7th with 7 points after 4 matches.
