Inter Milan GM Beppe Marotta admits it was a battle over the summer to keep the club together amid owners Suning's debt problems.
Inter have been able to shake off the concerns to begin the season impressively under new coach Simone Inzaghi.
“We had to act quickly when faced with the problems that emerged, that is part of the game," Marotta told Sky Italia.
“If there is a strong team behind the scenes, then big problems can be made to seem small. I have to say that I have excellent collaborators like Piero Ausilio and Dario Baccin, but the whole staff in general is strong.
“We brought people together during a situation that to others seemed to be on the verge of being defeatist."
