Blackburn Rovers passed on signing Josh Maja as a result of an injury issue.

The Bordeaux striker, who is now 22, wants to come back to England in the January transfer window.

According to The Sun, Blackburn were pushing to secure a forward after the loss of Adam Armstrong to Southampton.

The Championship outfit decided against signing Maja, as he is struggling with an injury at present.

The attacker did enjoy a half-season loan spell at Fulham from last January, where he scored three goals in 15 matches.
