Salernitana have made a move for free agent David Luiz.
The defender, 34, is without a club after leaving Arsenal in the summer but has not been short of admirers.
Brazilian side Flamengo and Mario Balotelli's Adana Demirspor have both been linked with a move.
But Luiz could be given the chance to remain in Europe's top leagues with a stay in southern Italy.
Salernitana are expected to negotiate the deal with the player's representatives this week, according to Italian journalist Rudi Galetti.
