Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce has added Remi Savage to first team training this week.

Savage, 19, arrived from Liverpool on loan in the summer and the centre-back joined fellow youngsters such as Joe White, Jack Young and Elliot Anderson in training.

ChronicleLive reports Savage has made just six appearances for the Under-23s since joining from Liverpool but after running the rule over the second string earlier in the week, Bruce took a closer look in training before Saturday's clash at Watford.

With Freddie Woodman injured, Bruce was also boosted by the sight of Martin Dubravka back on the training pitches this week.

However, Watford could come too early for the Slovakia international and Mark Gillespie was used in a practice match yesterday.
