USA coach Gregg Berhalter confirmed Christian Pulisic suffered an ankle injury in the 1-1 win over on Wednesday.
The Chelsea winger was forced off around the hour mark following a clash with Honduras captain Maynor Figueroa.
He has now returned to London for further assessment and could miss Saturday's clash with Aston Villa.
Following the win over Honduras, manager Berhalter said: "Christian has a slight ankle injury.
"We're going to get more info on it when he goes back to London, the severity of it."
