On the 4th of September 1960, Real Madrid picked up their first Intercontinental Cup against Peñarol de Montevideo.
Here we see highlights the inaugural edition of the matchup between the reigning European football champion and the reigning South American football champion.
Real Madrid won 5-1 on the evening at the Santiago Bernabeu. Real's goalscorers were Ferenc Puskas (2), Alfredi di Stefano, Chus and Gento. Alberto Spencer struck for Penarol.
