Everton boss Rafa Benitez was happy with Tom Davies for their draw at Manchester United.
Everton might have claimed all three points late in the game, but Yerry Mina's goal was chalked off for offside as he was beyond the last man when played in by Davies.
Many believed the midfielder should have taken a shot at goal himself rather than pass the ball, but Benitez has explained why he shouldn't be blamed for his decision.
The boss said: "In terms of the chance for Davies, I think he saw the position of Yerry and thought it was much better than his position. That's it.
"You can't blame a player for making this kind of decision. If he doesn't have anyone and he's looking for someone then ok you can say he doesn't want to score, or he was a little scared.
"But that's not the case, you can't blame him. He was in the right place at the right time, he felt that Yerry was in a better position.
"That's it. He was unlucky it was just some centimetres offside."
