Newcastle United have sent a scout to watch Bayer Leverkusen wonderkid Florian Wirtz.
The 18-year-old has put in a string of outstanding displays for Leverkusen in the Bundesliga this season.
Wirtz has six goals and six assists in 12 games, with Sport Bild claiming the newly minted Newcastle may be looking to sign him in January or the summer.
Their chief scout, Geoff Lockhart, was in Germany to watch Leverkusen take on Cologne during a 2-2 draw in the Bundesliga last weekend.
Wirtz played 77 minutes in the game. Leverkusen value the starlet at roughly £84 million.
