Former Bayern Munich chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge admits they turned down the chance to sign Karim Adeyemi for €3m.

The RB Salzburg striker is a top target for Bayern this season, along with Liverpool and Barcelona.

Rummenigge told Tz: “We weren't ready to pay that much. The transfer should cost around three million, which was a very proud sum for a 16-year-old at the time."

Rummenigge does not want to rule out the possibility that Adeyemi ends up at FCB: “He has developed well. I saw him at the international match and also watched the last Champions League match. He's an interesting player. You have to wait and see what happens. Now it may cost a zero more than it would have cost back then."
