France coach Didier Deschamps says Olympique Marseille midfielder Matteo Guendouzi deserves his place in the national squad.
On-loan from Arsenal, Guendouzi's form with OM has been rewarded with a new call-up by Deschamps.
The France coach explained, "I'm not going to link Matteo's form to his trainer (Jorge Sampaoli). He has already come with us, there he has blossomed, he has an important playing time, he has confidence in himself.
"He confirmed beyond his volume of play and his aggressiveness an important technical quality. He brings a lot of freshness that's important. Even if at times I was able to be conservative by favouring certain players who had a status, it is always good to breathe life into the group."
