Liverpool and Manchester City delivered a Premier League classic in a 2-2 draw at Anfield on Sunday.

In recent years it has been Liverpool who have dominated proceedings at Anfield, but City were clearly the better side in the first half as they pressed Jurgen Klopp's men into their own half.

But the home side found a spark early in the second-half through Sadio Mane, who broke the deadlock after 59 minutes after being set-up by Mohamed Salah.

Liverpool's lead lasted just ten minutes until Phil Foden equalised with a low, angled finish across Alisson at the Kop end.

Pep Guardiola was incensed shortly after when James Milner failed to receive a second yellow card for blatantly upending Bernardo Silva.

But it was the Reds who made the next significant moment in the match through Salah.

The Egyptian produced one of his greatest goals after he slalomed past a number of City defenders before powering home a stunning tight-angled finish with his opposite foot.

City deserved at least a point and they and secured it when Kevin De Bruyne's shot took a deflection off Joel Matip to beat Alisson with nine minutes left.

Speaking after the game, Guardiola said Milner escaped his marching orders because the game was played at Anfield.

"It's a yellow card. It's a yellow card. It's clear," Guardiola told reporters.

"But it's Anfield, it's Old Trafford. In our situation a City player is sent off. It's clear. It was a second yellow.

He added: "He has to show the yellow card to me [for remonstrating] but before he has to show the second one [to Milner].

"In these games, so tight... he has to. It doesn't mean you are going to win against Liverpool in Anfield but it is obvious, [he needed] to give James the second yellow."
