Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones has suffered a groin injury on duty with England U21s, manager Lee Carsley confirmed.

The 20-year-old has become a regular under Jurgen Klopp this season.

Jones was withdrawn by Carsley prior to Thursday's draw with Slovenia and he remains in doubt for Monday's clash with Andorra.

Carsley said: "He had a bit of tightness in his groin area. We will never put players in position where we will risk them.

"We'll monitor the situation looking towards Andorra but we will not be putting him under any pressure to play."
