Norwich City chief Stuart Webber says they were forced to sell Emi Buendia to Aston Villa over the summer.

Both Arsenal and Villa bid for Buendia and although he moved to Villa Park, has since struggled to make a major impact for Dean Smith's side.

Webber said: “I think Emi's sale helped us do a lot of work we did in the summer and that was great and very welcome as much as we did not want to lose a good player.

“When someone tells you very clearly he will not be playing for the club again . . 'see you later then mate, we don't need you, thank you very much'.

"No-one is bigger than the football club."
