Former Anderlecht striker Isaac Kiese Thelin is convinced Vincent Kompany will eventually return to Manchester City.
The Swede left Anderlecht for the UAE's FC Baniyas last season and insists his former coach is destined to return to City.
"Kompany appreciates me and said he would rather have kept me," Thelin told Fotbollskanalen. "But he also respected that I wanted to take this step.
"He is a fantastic coach and I think he will reach the absolute top.
"I wouldn't be surprised if he takes over at Manchester City in a few years."
