Manchester United attacker Jesse Lingard hit back at a section of supporters who were aiming comments at his direction.
Lingard, who did not come off the bench in the 5-0 defeat to Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday in the Premier League, was seen engaging with the supporters in a social media video.
The veteran attacker is heard saying "I'm not on the pitch," in response to comments from United fans.
Red Devils supporters were upset at the team's poor performance, especially in the first half, when Liverpool raced to a 4-0 lead at half-time.
Lingard later went onto social media to state that supporters were not aiming abuse at him, but told him to "work harder," which he took exception to.
