Arsenal are set to extend the contract of Tim Akinola.
The 20-year-old midfielder has been training regularly with the Arsenal first team this season after joining from Huddersfield last summer.
Akinola is set to become a free agent next summer, however, Arsenal possess a clause which could extend his deal by another year.
The Gunners are expected to trigger that clause soon, according to football.london.
Along with Charlie Patino, Akinola is one of the more highly-rated youngsters emerging for Arsenal's U23 side.
Akinola was almost named in the first-team squad for the recent Carabao Cup clash with AFC Wimbledon, and it is likely he will get minutes throughout the season.
