Alexandre Lacazette has rescued a point for Arsenal against Crystal Palace on a dramatic night in north London.

Patrick Vieira's return to north London almost ended in the Gunners legend pinching a memorable victory for Palace.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang opened the scoring for the home side after just eight minutes, pouncing on Vicente Guaita's diving save to deny Nicolas Pepe.

But Mikel Arteta's side began to fade and allowed Palace to assert their dominance.

It eventually resulted in an equaliser through Christian Benteke five minutes after half-time.

Thomas Partey was caught in possession by Jordan Ayew and Benteke fired a shot into the bottom corner.

Palace stole the ball from Arsenal once again to take the lead, this time from Conor Gallagher on Albert Sambi Lokonga.

The visitors broke quickly before Odsonne Edouard drilled an unstoppable shot via the underside of the bar.

It looked as though Vieira would seal an unforgettable victory against his former club, but it wasn't to be as Lacazette popped up to score from close range five minutes into stoppage time.

Arsenal are now 12th with a sixth game unbeaten, while Palace remain 14th after a third draw in a row.
