Former Norway international Kjetil Rekdal has questioned whether the national team is good enough to get the best from captain Martin Odegaard.

Arsenal midfielder Odegaard struggled in their 1-1 draw with Turkey last night.

Afterwards, Rekdal said: "He (coch Stale Solbakken) cannot defend for a long, long time that he has a captain who is anonymous.

"It will stop, then someone on the bench says that he performs better and wants to enter. Maybe it's a curse on the captain of the national team, that he is forced to remain anonymous.

"The main argument is that if we manage to get more out of him, then the team will be better. More dangerous, more creative, more productive."
