Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers says Harvey Barnes will eventually find a way into his starting XI.

Rodgers was speaking ahead of today's clash with Arsenal.

He said of Barnes: “Every footballer wants to play and that's what you want. He understands fully where he's at. He knows he will contribute. He has to keep proving a point.

"You don't just hand out opportunities, you have to earn it. Him and Ade can play on the inside as well. We've got lots of games, we're going to have to make changes. As a player, you have to be ready. He's in a good place, he's working, he's ready. He scored a fantastic goal in midweek."

Rodgers also spoke of Daniel Amartey's form, stating: “From a professional perspective, he's been outstanding. He was out for a period of time with an injury. The system didn't allow him to come in, but in a back three, he's a player who can fit into that. He never lets us down. Because he's played as a midfielder and a full-back, you need your outside centre-backs to step forward.

"And he has a level of comfort to pass it. He's played in some big wins. It's just that consistency. He loves his football and he likes to have a bit of fun, but he is always focused. He never has a lazy day. I'm delighted. Some players can come and play well and it's great to hear the supporters recognise that."
