Kjell Scherpen is happy to have joined Brighton.

Stuck with Ajax's reserve team, the goalkeeper jumped at the chance of a loan move to Brighton.

“But then came a great opportunity to get started in one of the most beautiful competitions in the world. Then sometimes you have to chase your dream. Ajax was very open about it. Brighton had a good plan. I seized that opportunity with both hands," he told AD.

"This is a new adventure, in a new environment. I am learning all kinds of things in the Premier League and because the training level of the goalkeepers is of a very high quality. I feel I am moving forward. That I'm doing well and that I'm getting better.

"I certainly don't regret the things I've done in my career so far."
