It’s Time To Give The Middle Finger To Bad Thoughts!

Everyone has experienced having bad thoughts at least a few times in their lives before, Malaysians included. It’s not a good feeling and we don’t like it hanging around in our heads. Negative thoughts are volatile as they are overbearing. They suck the life out of you easily.

A lot of times, negative thoughts hinder us more than help us advance in life. Here are some ways to combat and limit bad thoughts.

1. Controlling how you process information

A lot of times when we have negative thoughts, it’s because we choose to see the matter in a negative light. When you choose to see things negatively, then of course you will find yourself having bad thoughts.

Focus less on seeing things the negative way. Instead, try to find the good side out of the problems, and work from there. When you decide to let negative thoughts take hold of you, it will be quite hard for you to get out of it.

2. Making a decision and follow through with it

We get that sometimes things may not go your way. Which means it’s easy for you to think negatively. When you allow negative thoughts into your head, they can take over and dictate your words and actions. When you say or do things with your negative thoughts in control, we can guarantee you that things won’t turn out well for you in the long term.

Having said that, it’s better that you don’t just take control of your negative thoughts. I firmly believe that you should take the bull by its horns – by firmly making a decision and following through with it.

It’s good to put your feet down and take control of things. When you have a firm goal and decision and keep with it, you can easily push the negative thoughts out of your head.

3. Training yourself to not allow negative thoughts into your head

Sometimes, you will need to train yourself to not allow negative thoughts into your mind. Every time you feel a negative thought coming in, it’s best that you try to blockage it and keep it out. Fill your mind with any thoughts. Literally, any thoughts would have been better than having negative thoughts sometimes.

4. Keep yourself busy and your mind occupied

For some people, the reason why they have a lot of negative thoughts is that they have nothing to do. Their lives sit idly by as the day passes. Perhaps you are one of those people. If that’s the case, then I supposed the solution is pretty clear and straightforward.

Fill your time with work and focus on it. If you do not have a job, it’s all right. Go pick up a hobby or something then go from there. It can be gardening, writing a story, or even housekeeping. As long as you are doing something, it’s easier to keep the negative thoughts at bay.

The Bottom Line

There is no “be all, end all” solution to controlling negative emotions. Most times it involves a lot of self-training and control to keep the negative thoughts out. As long as you are doing something about it, you should be all right.
