The boyhood Red - who only made his under-23s bow exactly a year ago - is now eager for more first-team opportunities under Jurgen Klopp.
"I can't wipe the smile off my face," said Morton. "It's a different feeling to any other, especially as it's my boyhood club.
"Being a fan all my life, and now stepping on the pitch, it felt surreal. But that's where I want to be so that's where I'm going to push to be.
"It's quality to watch on the sidelines, but when you come on it's a different feeling.
"There were a few nerves but only good nerves. Nothing too serious, all happy. The boss made me feel easy to start with.
"My family dreamed to be a Liverpool footballer and I've gone and done it. I know how proud they are of me, they tell me every day I go to training. It felt so good doing it for them and my best mate.
"The manager and the players I'm working with are different class and to get a 'well done' off them is just amazing."
