Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has reflected on his wonder save against Leicester City last week.

The 23-year-old produced a superb one-handed save to stop James Maddison's free kick and ensure the Gunners picked up a 2-0 Premier League victory.

Moments after the save, legendary Arsenal stopper David Seaman tweeted: "Wow, what a save!"

Speaking to the Tubes and Ange Golf Life YouTube channel about the stop, Ramsdale said: "It's hard to explain, it's just day to day work.

"You don't actually practise them saves but the footwork and explosions and power and stuff enabled me to get there.

"I thought Madders was going to switch it and whip it my side given how close he was and he had a little sighter a few minutes before when he hit the wall and I just thought he was going to whip it my side.

"He's put it over and you just fling yourself at it, I didn't know where the ball went and it dropped and I'm just happy I didn't land on it and it went in or something.

"If you see me on the replay I go to jump and celebrate and then I'm like, let's stay calm.

"Ben White, Gabriel, [Takehiro] Tomiyasu, Kieran Tierney and Nuno [Tavares], we actually really enjoy defending and you see when us make a block or a save, we're all together and we're fist pumping.

"Ben told me once mid-game that, 'When you make a save, I just want to punch you in the face.'

"Me and Ben have known each other for a long time. When the ball got cleared and no one celebrated, I thought I should calm down."
