Aston Villa defender Matty Cash is excited to be preparing to make his Poland debut.
The fullback is now preparing with Poland for this week's World Cup qualifiers.
"It has been a very proud moment for me in my whole family, especially on my mother's side," Cash told the Guardian.
"I have relations in Poland, but I have never been there and never met them, but my mother has talked on the phone with them constantly, and everyone is so excited."
Cash goes on to say that he has received a very positive reception since the switch.
"Even the reception I have received from people on social media has been incredible. I can not wait to get going and meet everyone. I only know a few words of Polish, but my mother speaks it fluently and she has helped me polish it off."
