Popular Norwegian sports journalist Arne Scheie was sorry learning of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's sacking at Manchester United.
Scheie is regarded as United's most famous fan in Solskjaer's homeland.
"It is very sad that he has finished as manager of Manchester United, but I know the mechanisms in football well. It blows hard in the red tops when you do not win football matches," he told VG.
"I had great faith that this would be turned against Watford, which is not a top team. But yesterday's performance did not suggest that there was much progress. It was disappointing to see Manchester United, who made it difficult for themselves with Harry Maguire's dismissal.
"I was absolutely sure that the season would get better. They have stars everywhere and should step up to fight against the very best."
