Barcelona are shopping for a new striker in January.

Last weekend, Joan Laporta went as far as to say that there will be up to three signings as we welcome in the new year. Due to Barcelona's current financial situation, though, the number of signings will likely depend on any departures from the current squad.

What is clear is that Barcelona will be on the hunt for a forward in January, although no one has yet been decided upon. There will be a meeting shortly between the club's board to assess who they want to bring in, says Marca.

The possible long-term absence of Sergio Aguero and the likelihood that Luuk de Jong will see his loan cut short in January means that the team will be after a centre-forward.

Martin Braithwaite will be back available at some point, but the date by which he will is as yet unknown.
