Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl hopes his team can take advantage of Liverpool having a mid-week Champions League clash.

The Reds are taking on Porto in the group stages on Wednesday, and then take on Southampton on Saturday.

While Jurgen Klopp will rest some of his stars, as they are comfortably top of their Champions League group, Hasenhuttl knows that having a game in between is still a distraction for Liverpool.

He said, per the Daily Echo: "We have a normal week now (after the international break's disruption).

"This is a possible disadvantage for Liverpool who in the week plays a top team.

"We will prepare good and have to find the right team for competing against them, and this is what we need to do."
