Newcastle United winger Allan Saint-Maximin was upbeat after their 3-3 draw with Brentford.
The Magpies are now rock bottom of the Premier League after Norwich City's 2-1 win over Southampton.
After netting the equaliser in the 3-3 draw at St James' Park, Newcastle winger Saint-Maximin said: "We played good football, we tried to attack a lot but for sure we need to concede less and if we can do that, I'm sure we are going to win more games.
"I feel a bit bad today because I tried to do my best to help my team but it still the same again – I scored but we draw.
"So I will do my best and make sure the next time I score it is to win the game.
"But it's so important [the result] because it is better to draw than lose and I think the team showed good character because it is not easy to come back.
"We just have to keep going, stay together and try to do our best to win the next game."
After United fielded a 3-4-3 formation against the Bees, Saint-Maximin said he felt more comfortable with the new tactics.
He said: "If you see the game against Brighton I had no shots in 95 minutes – now I get four shots and I have more chances to score.
"It's much better for me and gives me the opportunity to help the team more because my job is to score goals and make assists, to be an important player."
