Chelsea have found a breakthrough in new contract negotiations with Andreas Christensen.
Off contract in June, the Denmark defender has been stalling on agreeing terms over a new deal.
However, Sky Italia's Gianluca di Marzio is reporting a fresh breakthrough has been made by the two parties.
Di Marzio says the signing will be now a formality, with all major details settled. The new deal will run for four years with the option for a fifth.
Christensen has been linked with AC Milan in recent days ahead of the January market.
