Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has confirmed Lewis Baker will not be play against Brentford in the Carabao Cup quarter-final on Wednesday.

Baker was one of 12 members of the U23s side that Tuchel had called up to train with the first team in case they are needed to make up numbers.

But the English midfielder, who last played for Chelsea seven years ago, has tested positive for Covid.

"We planned now a squad and we had some plans with Lewis Baker, from the academy, and now he's tested positive," Tuchel added.

"So we can now start from scratch, and this is what we do right now. We've delayed training until late afternoon. Right now we will prepare for the match to be played."
